Not Fine Dining Just a Fine Diner

Mecca’s been feeding Seattle since 1930-a rough-edged dive diner where the portions of homemade comfort food and diner classics are are huge and priced right. Pancakes piled high, burgers thick and greasy, classic dinners that stick to your ribs, and friendly customer service until you prove you deserve otherwise. It’s the kind of place for the hungry, the lost, and the restless - a sanctuary where the food hits hard and the drinks burn slow and one of the few places still open late for food in this town striving to be a city.
Order NowHomemade Comfort Food

We’re known for a few things - stiff drinks, authentic Philly Cheesesteaks, Mom’s meatloaf, fries cut by hand. But forget the vodka. The real deal is the Chicken Fried Steak & Eggs, smothered in sausage gravy. It’s steak, not chicken - breaded and then fried, and thrown on your plate like it owes you money. You’ll love it.

One of the city’s few restaurants open when the rest of the city curls up and dies for the night. Mecca’s your go-to for homemade comfort food and stiff drinks, no matter the clock. And in the spirit of punk rock, bar art and drink coasters, art from our customers covers the walls. Some going back to who knows when. But as the oldest surviving bar in this part of town, if you stare at the walls long enough you’re sure to find some classic gems.

Last night we got into town rather late and not many places were still serving food…that’s where Mecca Cafe comes to the rescue. It’s definitely not fancy, but it’s a great place for late night food and drinks. I had their DeWitt breakfast and my SO ordered their Chicken Fried Steak breakfast (which he raved about ... and has finally agreed this can be one of our stops when we’re on the west side of the state). I think they have some of the best scrambled eggs, which is really the reason I chose to go to this establishment. Read More

We ate here at the recommendation from staff at our hotel when in Seattle last week and had breakfast for lunch that day. The classic French toast was wonderful! My friend had a breakfast platter and it had so much food she couldn’t finish it. We came back the next day and shared a Monte Cristo that was one of the ... best I’ve ever eaten. Great food, great atmosphere, friendly staff and good prices. I’d love to come back someday. Read More

Great stop after coming off the cruise. Great food and perfect dive bar atmosphere to bring us back to the world. They didn't shame me for the breakfast beer either!

I was so looking forward to dining here and I’m glad I have. I had lunch the first day I was here and breakfast the next morning. The corn beef hash is extraordinary. Services fairly friendly, depending on who your server is and the atmosphere is awesome. For lunch, I had the hot beef sandwich which not many people ... serve anymore. The mashed potatoes are homemade and so is the gravy. If you’re in Seattle check this out. Read More

Woohoo, Russ!! If you're looking for a fantastic spot in Seattle, look no further than Mecca Bar! My recent visit was made extraordinary thanks to our bartender, Russ. From the moment we sat down, his quirky service and infectious Philadelphia smile set the tone for an unforgettable evening for some heavy drinkers ... visiting from Texas! Russ was not only entertaining but also incredibly knowledgeable about the surrounding area. He offered excellent recommendations for local attractions, which made our trip even more enjoyable. It's rare to find someone who combines great personality with top-notch service! The pricing at Mecca Bar is among the best in Seattle, making it affordable without compromising quality. The food was exceptional, and I recommend the turkey club, fish and chips, or Reuben sandwich. Overall, if you're in Seattle in Queen Anne, a visit to Mecca Bar is a must! And make sure to say hi to Russ—his enthusiasm and expertise will surely make your experience memorable. You won't be disappointed! His Mystery Shot was the best. Read More

Great diner! Had an eggs Benedict which was fabulous. Worth the upset stomach lol (not their fault I got belly issues). Hash browns super tasty. The staff was so nice. Had such fun diner vibes. They have a happy hour breakfast and afternoon and late night I wanna go back for. I wanna try lunch - a diner turkey club ... with fries is one of my favorite meals, gotta go back!! Pricier than the diners from when I grew up in Jersey but that's city life and 2024 prices for ya haha Read More

The bar is a hidden gem!! We had such a good time we went back multiple times in the week. I had the Turkey Club with extra crispy fries and it was the best club I've had in the city. S/O to Russ being a great host/bartender. He always made sure we were always good.

We enjoyed our meals. French toast and a patty melt with fries. All was diner level delicious. Definitely recommend for a hearty lunch. Our friendly service from Jessie was top notch. She and Sonya were keeping things running smoothly!
